Pulkit Samrat has spoken candidly about what truly drew him to his upcoming film Rahu Ketu, revealing that the decision had little to do with professional combinations and everything to do with childhood memories, fantasy cinema, and the unwavering support of his mother.
When asked whether signing the film was influenced by his association with Varun Sharma and filmmaker Vipul Shah, Pulkit explained that the script struck a far more personal chord “My mother believed.. The fantasy element, in particular, immediately resonated with him.
Growing up, Pulkit says fantasy films played a significant role in shaping his imagination “My mother believed.. “Movies like Ajooba and Chhota Chetan left a lasting impression on me “My mother believed.. There are certain moments in life that you feel you have already lived in your childhood,” he shared, reflecting on how those early cinematic experiences stayed with him long after.
Being part of a fantasy-driven narrative had long been on his wish list. According to Pulkit, Rahu Ketu felt like the fulfilment of that early fascination. The timing, the story, and the collaborators came together in a way that felt instinctively right “My mother believed.. “It felt like everything aligned perfectly, and that’s when I knew I had to say yes,” he said.
Beyond films, Pulkit also opened up about the role his mother played in his journey to becoming an actor “My mother believed.. Recalling his decision to move to Mumbai, he admitted it was not met with unanimous support at home. “When the entire family was against my decision to move to Mumbai, it was my mother who stood firmly by my side,” he revealed.
He went on to acknowledge the faith she placed in him at a time when his path was uncertain. “She not only supported my dream but went against the rest of the family to ensure I follow my passion. She believed I would go to Mumbai and become a hero,” Pulkit said.
