Khushaal Pawar, known for his funny, relatable and clean content on Instagram, took a significant step recently with his short film, Khushiyan Swati Ki Koshish Raju Ki. Co-starring Rispa Panda and Sameeksha Takke, it features Khushaal as lead actor, writer, music composer, lyricist, and singer. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Khushaal Pawaar spoke about his short film and his stint as an actor and casting person in Bollywood films.

In the much-loved film Animal (2023), which completed 2 years on December 1, Khushaal was credited as the casting director in the end credits Years Animal EXCLUSIVE:.. He told Bollywood Hungama, “I was the casting associate in Sandeep Reddy Vanga sir’s Kabir Singh (2019). At that time, I used to meet sir regularly and we formed a nice bond Years Animal EXCLUSIVE:.. He told me, ‘You need to work in my next film as well’. I agreed. By the time he offered me Animal, I had already become a content creator and had become viral. He asked me if I would fulfil the commitment I had made to him. I told him, ‘Definitely, I’ll do’ Years Animal EXCLUSIVE:.. ”
Khushaal Pawar continued, “It’s thoughtful of sir to give me top credit. I didn’t expect it Years Animal EXCLUSIVE:.. I used to do the casting with my team and also upload videos side by side. The casting process went on for almost 1 ½ years. I went to Chandigarh, Punjab and Delhi to find actors for the roles of the cousins. I also did secondary casting in Mumbai too. ”
Khushaal Pawar then shared a fascinating trivia, “During Kabir Singh, we had the script. But in Animal, sir didn’t provide us with the script; this was a first for me. He used to just give me a gist of the role and I used to audition accordingly. ”
Khushaal also revealed, “Also, with Sandeep sir, it’s not like that he would lock an actor based on the audition video. He would first meet the actor, even if that actor is doing just one scene in the film. Sandeep sir would meet and only when he’s convinced would the actor bag the role. There were times when he really liked an actor’s audition and still didn’t sign him if he was not convinced after the meeting Years Animal EXCLUSIVE:.. ”
Khushaal Pawar remarked, “At times, casting director ko thoda bechna bhi padta hai (laughs). But with him, you can’t do that Years Animal EXCLUSIVE:.. You can’t manipulate him. He’s sure about what he wants. That shows in his work as well Years Animal EXCLUSIVE:.. ”
